The
Lithuanian Cricket League has 3 teams entered into a 40 over a-side
league, as well as 20/20 format competitions, for the 2009 season.
There are 2 teams in Vilnius (Vilnius CC & Vilnius University
CC), one team (Kaunas Medicals) play out of Kaunas. It is hoped
a 3rd Vilnius team will be established during the 2009 season.
Summer training is held on Thursday nights at 1800 and Sunday from
16:00 at the Geležinio Vilko sports club. During the winter,
we move indoors to the Sv Kazamiero school sports hall, where matches
and practice take place on Fridays at 1800.
After a successful 2008, when the Lithuanian Cricket Federation
hosted a number of touring teams, we aim to expand our fixture list
for 2009. Fixtures can be arranged for touring teams to play a selection
of league teams and the Lithuanian national team at our pleasant
riverside ground, close to Vilnius city centre with all of its amenities.
